What is Babots?
Babots is an AI proxy that acts on your behalf in conversations — it drafts replies and handles messages for you, but only sends what you approve. It's invite-only and pre-launch today.
Is it just a chatbot?
No. A chatbot answers you. A Babot represents you to other people — it drafts outbound messages in your voice, always identifies itself as your AI, and waits for your approval before anything is sent.
Can it send messages without me?
No. There's no autopilot. Every outbound message requires your approval (a swipe), and the system can quarantine a risky draft before it even reaches you. An AI never speaks as you without your sign-off.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your AI keys are stored AES-256-GCM-encrypted (you only ever see the last 4 digits), chat content is never written to our audit log (we log metadata like model and cost, never your messages), and we never sell personal data — that's in our version-controlled Terms.
How is it different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an assistant you talk to. Babots is a proxy that talks to others for you, under your control. Key differences: you approve every outbound message, your AI always discloses it's an AI, you bring your own AI key, and we build against deletion and disclosure standards rather than engagement metrics.
Can I use my own AI key?
Yes — Babots supports bring-your-own-key (OpenAI, Anthropic, and others). Your key is encrypted at rest in a vault, masked to its last 4 characters in the UI, and decrypted only at the instant of an AI call.
How much does it cost?
Every reply shows its credit cost up front, and your babot stops at zero credits rather than overcharging you — no surprise billing. (Babots is invite-only pre-launch; public pricing is being finalized.)
What happens to my data if I leave?
You can delete your account and have your data hard-purged (built to GDPR Art. 17): a 30-day grace window, then your babots, memories, drafts, and channels are cascaded and your PII is wiped. You can also export everything as JSON first (GDPR Art. 20). Individual memories can be forgotten instantly, anytime.
Does it work on WhatsApp or Telegram?
Babots is built to operate across messaging channels and manages channel links per account (including Telegram link tokens that are cleaned up on deletion). Specific channel availability depends on your invite and configuration — we don't claim any channel is live until it's wired in your environment.
Does my AI ever pretend to be a human?
No. On first contact it always identifies itself as your AI proxy, and that disclosure line is re-injected on send so it can't be edited out — built against CA SB 1001 and the EU AI Act.
